Bio

Brad Parsons & Starbird is the culmination of two forces crashing into each other to form one amazing treat for your mind, body and soul.

Brad Parsons fell in love with music at a young age as the son of a preacher in Lewiston, ID.  After touring for a few years as a sideman playing banjo, keys, and guitar in folk band Horse Feathers, Brad shifted his focus back to his solo band in 2016 and has been blazing trails from Alaska to Atlanta. His booming voice and well-crafted songs led him to appear at festivals like Northwest String Summit, Winter Wondergrass, JamCruise, High Sierra, Aiken Bluegrass Festival, Yarmonygrass and a recent tours supporting Yonder Mountain String Band and Fruition. Brad has also shared the stage with his good friends Lil Smokies, Trout Steak Revival, John Craigie, Danny Barnes, Steve Poltz etc. In November 2017, he joined forces with Starbird to create a powerful musical experience.

The instrumental trio Starbird was formed in 2017 by accomplished nationally-touring musicians looking to create fresh new sounds that were both progressive and timeless. The structure of the band lends itself to improvisation and deep jams while still remaining fundamentally sound and true to the music. The band consists of Justin Mazer (Ryan Montbleau Band) on electric guitar,  Dylan Skursky (Cabinet) on electric/upright bass, and Alex 'Al' Smith on drums/keys. The musicians of Starbird have individually or collectively performed with artists such as Larry Campbell + Theresa Williams, Holly Bowling, Jackie Greene, Steve Earle, Bob Weir, Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds, Billy Martin, Keller Williams, Soule Monde, and members of Snarky Puppy.
